Sides with their plates or dinners include side salad, & choice of: french fries, mashed potatoes, baked potato (small red potatos served with sour cream) butter, anaad Rye bread) Friday night is fish: fried catfish (you have the choice of Ribs & Tail, or all ribs, fried pollock, or cod. Saturday night is steak night. Choices include: Prime Rib, Flat Iron Steak, Ribeye. Steak. They are open every night, but Friday & Saturday are my "go-to" nights. The "all ribs.catfish" are really excellent, and the Flat Iron Steak is one of the best around.

If you like Czech food this is the place! Wednesday pork roast is great! We've been here for the duck also. A great small town restaurant/cafe! Definitely worth the drive from Omaha!

I recently discovered a Gem in a small town 25 minutes from Wahoo, Ne. The food is delicious with great prices. The waitress Mary works the whole place and does a great job making you feel welcome. Their Wednesday roast pork, dumplings and kraut are reason enough to make the drive there. Everything I have ordered off their menu is superb. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

After hearing about this place, we decided to make a road trip for lunch to Abie's Place. Check out their Facebook for the day's lunch special. For Friday, it was fried chicken and, darn, was it good! It came out piping hot, crispy, fresh, and juicy. Along with it delicious baked beans (about the best I ever had), potato salad, lettuce salad, and a beverage. They are also famous for their kolaches. We bought a dozen for $18 and they are great! A wide selection of flavors for such a small place.

SMALL TOWN STEAK NIGHT! Took a large group including my parents and siblings here on a Saturday for steak night. The ribeye and prime rib ware excellent. We bought some homemade kolache's for the next morning and they were great as well. As stated in other reviews, it's in an old school and when you pull up you're not quite sure that you're at the right place. Just say hello to the cute little Doxen dogs on the right (present 6/2021) and take the steps down to the left to find the entrance. Prices for beer and food was very affordable. I had called early that day to be sure they were open and serving food...the owner seem to appreciated it. Since we were a large group they seated us in the gymnasium, and after eating we played a few games of knock out--I didn't win...damn you Kevin! The kids shot some hoops and bumped a volleyball around while waiting for food. They have a small kitchen, one cook, and a few wait staff, but the food came without too long of a wait. We were not in a big hurry and enjoyed having a few beers and conversation with family, so it was excellent. They were busy and there was probably another ~20 people in the front room. Everyone was super nice. This was exactly the small town, off the beaten path experience we were looking for!

What a pleasant surprise. We were looking for some authentic Czech food. We heard about Abie's Place in A small unincorporated community called Abie in Eastern Nebraska. It is about an hour drive from both Lincoln and Omaha. (Well worth the drive) Every Wednesday the Lunch special is Pork, dumplings & gravy sauerkraut, salad and rye bread. They also had fresh baked loaves of rye bread & assorted Kolache. The meal was great! The pork was tender the gravy was very good as was the kraut & dumplings. I believe the Czech food is only available on Wednesdays. NOTE even though the address says it is in Bruno it is really in the town of Abie.
